Blues Ballads and Bossa coming to Randolph

RANDOLPH TWP. – The Randolph Township Library has planned several upcoming programs.

 

The library is located at 28 Calais Road.

All below listed programs are for adults 18 and over.

•The Randolph Library presents "Blues, Ballads, and Bossa" at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 18.

Rosalind Grant sings uptempo jazz standards including swing, blues, ballads, and bossa. Grant is a talented vocalist who studied at the New School in NYC and has performed extensively throughout the United States and abroad. She currently works with Sharp Radway, pianist and Musical Director for the Lionel Hampton Celebration Big Band.

•The Randolph Library presents "The Art of Japanese Ikenobo Ikebana Flower Arranging" at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 28.

Toshio Okimatsu, Vice president of the Ikenobo Ikebana Society of NJ, will provide a brief introduction to the five styles of Ikebana arrangements, after which he will create several arrangements.

The origin of Ikebana goes back 550 years in the Rokkakudo in Kyoto, as a Buddist floral offering. It has been passed down through generations of the Ikenobo family and from teacher to student, and spread throughout Japan and the world.

•The Randolph Library presents "Entertain with Card Tricks" at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 4.

agician Mark Zacharia presents a one-hour beginner’s workshop where attendees will learn professional-calibre magic that they can perform immediately. More than just card tricks; attendees will learn how to be an entertaining performer, and gain the skills to amuse and amaze friends and family. No prior skills are necessary. Zacharia performs Off Broadway at "Monday Night Magic." He is the performer of choice for children’s hospitals and many leading corporate events.
