MORRIS TOWNSHIP — Twenty schoolchildren were treated for minor injuries at Morristown Memorial Hospital Wednesday morning following a collision at the intersection of Columbia Road and Normandy Parkway between a a Subaru passenger car and a school bus headed for Normandy Park School, police and a hospital spokesperson said.
“The injuries appear to be minor,” a hospital spokesperson said about 11:40 a.m. “Our child life team is working with the students and parents who are here.” The children who are waiting for their parents to arrive before being discharged are being “entertained with iPads,” the spokesperson said. “They don’t want to leave.”
Morris Township police have not yet released details of the accident, but said the driver of the car was not injured, police said. In all, some 25 to 30 children were aboard the bus. Morris township police said at 10:20 a.m. that a press release would be forthcoming.
