Final Branch Collection Update
Posted: January 3, 2012

During the past ten weeks, public works crews have concentrated all energies on the removal of damaged trees and branches resulting from the October 2011 snowstorm.

Crews are quickly moving through the final district north of Route 10 and expect to have the collection completed by Thursday, January 12.

Randolph has scheduled Christmas tree collections to begin immediately following the Martin Luther King holiday. Crews will also pick up branches on streets initially cleared in the first several days following the October storm in recognition that some streets were cleared before residents had a chance to address their properties.

The branch collection task was enormous. Four community park parking lots were used for collection and chipping operations. On a positive note, the resulting chipped material is being loaded and removed at no cost to taxpayers.

FEMA has announced that Randolph qualifies for financial assistance for the cleanup operation which will be very important as the township fully depleted its emergency snow emergency reserve fund in the aftermath of the storm.

We wish to thank our residents for their patience and cooperation, especially those citizens who reside in the final districts to be cleared of branches. When all is said and done, the township came through an immense cleanup effort the likes of which were never experienced in the past.
