"Your State Budget Proposal Doesn't Provide Enough Property Tax Relief!"
Property taxes represent the most overwhelming tax burden facing New Jerseyans today, and the new State Budget recently proposed by Governor Christie does not adequately address the problem.
The Homestead Credit property tax relief program has still not been fully restored. Many homeowners, particularly seniors, depend on the Homestead Credit to make their property taxes affordable. While Governor Christie has made the program more efficient by making it a credit, the funding levels are much lower than they were during the previous administration.
AARP is disappointed that the Governor’s budget proposal fails to fully fund the Homestead Credit. AARP urges the Governor to amend his proposed budget to provide greater property tax relief to the people who need it most.
Governor Christie needs to hear from YOU. Please call 609-292-6000 and urge Governor Christie to restore full funding to the Homestead Credit.
Have you experienced an economic hardship due to unaffordable property taxes? Help us convince lawmakers and Governor Christie by sharing your story with AARP. Please email [email protected] or post your story on our Facebook page at http://www.Facebook.com/AARPNewJersey.

And of course, Gordon is a great guy and a lot of fun to work with!"
