Morris County Seeks Input on Train Station Access Study
Monday, March 19, 2012
The Morris County Division of Transportation and its consultant, VHB, will conduct a Public Open House as part of the NJ 124 Corridor Transit Access Improvement Study on Thursday, March 29, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., inside the Madison Train Station in Madison.
The study will analyze and recommend train station access improvements at Chatham, Madison, and Convent Station for all users of those stations.
The open house is an opportunity for the public to meet with the project team, identify any difficulties they encounter getting to or from these train stations being studied, and suggest any solutions. The open house is being held early in the project so that the public's feedback can be incorporated into the various tasks of the study.
Once completed, the study will yield a final report that will include an assessment of existing transportation infrastructure, modes of access, and land use, and will provide recommendations and strategies to meet the access needs of the public in the near and long term.
This study is funded through the North Jersey Transportation Planning Authority's Subregional Studies Program and is managed by the Morris County Division of Transportation. The project began in January 2012 and is anticipated to be completed in March 2013.
More information on the study is available on the Morris County Division of Transportation Web site, www.MorrisDOT.org/NJ124.
Anyone unable to attend the open house is encouraged to visit the web site to submit comments online and join the study email list. Comments can also be mailed to the Morris County Division of Transportation at PO Box 900, Morristown, NJ 07963-0900.

"For Gordon Crawford:
Gordon made my experience as a first-time home buyer as stress free as it can be. He came highly recommended, and didn't disappoint. I had dealt with a couple of agents before I met Gordon, and both were a nightmare. Moving from Hoboken, Gordon introduced me and my fiancé to the Morris County area. He spent an exceptional amount of time pointing out the local hot spots, pros/cons of neighborhoods, and overall made me feel comfortable narrowing the search. His approach to finding the right home was refreshing, if not tedious, taking us to various listings to see a single detail we may like so he could narrow the search. He often would say, "I know this isn't the right place for you, but what do you think about the yard/kitchen/bedrooms/etc?". When the listing for the home we eventually bought came up, he immediately knew we'd like it.
Gordon walked us through the inspection, negotiation, and closing process. In the rare case when he wasn't able to answer the phone, Gordon's responsiveness was excellent as well. I love the home I'm in, but if I ever need a change, I hope to have Gordon as my agent in the future."
